After we started thinking more seriously about expanding our family, my husband brought up the idea of getting a pet or two. While I was completely against the concept at first, I realized that it might be helpful for our children to warm up to the idea before having another sibling. We got a dog and our kids were tasked with the job of feeding it every day and doing other tasks, and it was amazing to see how much the animal helped our family to grow. 1: Toygers are bred to look like miniature tigers
If you always loved the look of a tiger with its distinctive stripes, then you may adore a kitten that comes with that same amazing pattern to it. The Toyger has been specifically bred to have that look to it.
2: Toygers are domestic cats
While you may like the idea of your cat having the look of a tiger, you may be concerned about actually owning a cat that's been bred with a wild cat. Breeders do a great job of matching the parents to get fantastic looks. Something else to know about the Toyger breed is that it is bred by breeding a bangle cat with a striped domestic cat. The fact that the Toyger is a smart and easy-going breed means they can often be taught to do a number of things. If you are looking for a cat you can bring with you on trips, then know they are often trained to walk on a harness and to be great traveling companions. If you want an all-around great cat, then the Toyger may be right for you. Consider a reputable breeder where you can choose from one or more litters and where the breeder can match you to the right kitten.
